Connecting with today’s kids because their future matters
There are many programs that provide good information to our kids, but they do not change behavior. Envision Your Future gets kids to make positive choices. I am recommending Envision Your Future to our State Prevention Specialists, youth at-risk programs, schools and juvenile justice system.

Envision Your Future is an evidenced-based New Mexico Prevention Network endorsed curriculum
Envision Your Future is a strength-based, non-clinical, positive youth development program that gets youth engaged in their lives by guiding them to find a positive direction, short-term, medium-term and long-term. Kids discover what it will take and the choices they must make to accomplish their dreams. They realize that education is a key to successfully achieving their goals. Kids are intrinsically motivated to take responsibility and ownership for what they want and how they behave. Envision Your Future starts with what is right in an individual and is based on Cognitive Field Theory, Self Determination Theory and Motivational Interviewing. These theories have been utilized in such a way that they are easily facilitated by both the degreed and non-degreed. Facilitating Envision Your Future guides today's youth, Millennials, in developing social/educational competency to successfully navigate school and life.
Our children are the living messages we send to a time and place we will never see.
Our Mission: To guide youth in creating their own positive future stories and support them as they take responsibility for clarifying their dreams, developing their blueprints and identifying the people and resources that will help them accomplish their goals.
Cultivating the best in our kids.
Envision Your Future was developed by Patty O'Sullivan, Ph.D., based on a study she did on the changing behavior of our youth as they move ahead through school and why current programs for youth are not producing the expected results. She discovered that youth still in middle school had dreams of success. In high school many of the students had lost their dreams which led to their dropping out and engaging in risky behavior. Dr. O'Sullivan realized that we are working with a new generation of youth, brought up with computers, video games, cell phones and iPods. They have the ability to go beyond linear thinking and want to find their own answers. Envision Your Future puts youth back in touch with their dreams and guides them in finding their own answers and in overcoming the challenges they face as they move toward their vision for their future.

A Testimonial from Carla Chavez, Deputy Director of Voices for New Mexico Children;
Envision Your Future addresses a vital need for young people. I believe that Envision Your Future has two unique elements. The first is that it is asset-based and focuses on the real gifts children have. The second is that it places the successes that come from involvement with Envision Your Future exactly where they need to be - with the children involved. While they have their place and are very needed, most programs take an approach that is focused on what is wrong, rather than what is right with children, their families, and their environments. This causes the approach to be one where the "fix" belongs to and resides in the program that is there to help. Envision Your Future works with young people to discover what is right about them and at the same time to discover that the "fix" is in their hands. I strongly believe this will have life-long results for the children and others involved; and, this is the type of program I like being involved with.
