The Advisory Board brings a strong and varied background in developing and implementing programs. The predominant aspect of The Board is their experience working with youth in a variety of programs.

Roger Carl, M.A. (Counseling Psychology), B.A. (Psychology), LPCC, President / CEO of Healthcare Operations and Business Growth Initiatives, has more than 20 years of governmental, public and private sector experience with organizations ranging from a $2.5 million non-profit community mental health organization to a $45 billion worldwide healthcare provider. Mr. Carl has also been active with programs dealing with youth-at-risk and adjudicated youth. I committed to being a member of the Envision Your Future board because I believe it will have a strong positive effect on children's lives. As a long time behavioral health clinician and administrator of healthcare organizations, I am always on the lookout for interventions/programs that have stood the test of time and research and are considered evidenced-based best practices, or ones that show great potential to become or significantly contribute to evidenced-based best practices. I strongly feel that Envision Your Future fits the later scenario. I believe that Envision Your Future will prove itself as one of the key tools that healthcare providers, school systems, juvenile justice departments, and other entities involved with children, will use in helping children get from point A to point Z and beyond. Envision Your Future is portable, easily understood, non-clinical, and efficiently packaged, and marketable so it also meets some key business requirements. In summary, Envision Your Future has tremendous potential to be an important part of the system of care for high risk children, to play a significant role in helping children achieve their dreams, and it is designed to help child oriented organizations develop a reasonable business case for ensuring their return on investment. Roger Carl, M.A., Albuquerque, NM

Rev. Dr. Tom Anderson, Minister of the Lutheran Church of the Servant in Santa Fe is a community organizer, specializing in substance abuse prevention and positive programming for youth. As a pastor of a church, I too often feel hopelessly frustrated with our cultural system that isn't producing well-rounded, inquisitive and community-minded young people. Then, came Dr. O'Sullivan with an extraordinary and practical way to help set a new vision for learning. It was the fastest "Yes!" to a request to serve on a board I've ever given. The Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Anderson, Santa Fe, NM

Carla Chavez is the Deputy Director of Programs for New Mexico Voices for Children. Ms. Chavez has worked as an advocate for children for over 30 years while working for various non-profit organizations and government agencies. She is the catalyst for our first grants. Please go to http://www.nmvoices.org/ for more information on New Mexico Voices for Children. I consented to be on the Board of Envision Your Future because I feel that it addresses a vital need for young people. I believe that Envision Your Future has two unique elements. The first is that it is asset-based and focuses on the real gifts children have. The second is that it places the successes that come from involvement with Envision Your Future exactly where they need to be - with the children involved. While they have their place and are very needed, most programs take an approach that is focused on what is wrong, rather than what is right with children, their families, and their environments. This causes the approach to be one where the "fix" belongs to and resides in the program that is there to help. Envision Your Future works with young people to discover what is right about them and at the same time to discover that the "fix" is in their hands. I strongly believe this will have life-long results for the children and others involved; and, this is the type of program I like being involved with. Carla Chavez

Darrel Whitehead is a CPA with a large practice and office in Huntington Beach, CA. His practice includes working with both non-profit and for-profit corporations. I am frequently asked to be on boards and rarely accept. I saw the importance of Envision Your Future for our kids and felt I wanted to give my financial expertise to assure the success for this important venture. Darrel Whitehead, CPA, Huntington Beach, CA

Jack Ortega has over 30 years of experience working with juvenile justice and human services programs. He currently consults in program planning, development and administration of juvenile justice programs in Northern New Mexico. He was formerly The Bureau Chief for the New Mexico Human Services Department and the Children, Youth and Families Department. I was very impressed how Envision Your Future connects with today's youth. Most programs that are used in juvenile justice are based on consequences. Envision Your Future builds on the positive aspects of the youth and guides them in creating a future story that includes them taking responsibility for their actions, friends and choices. Jack Ortega, Santa Fe, NM

Scott Degraffenreid is a Social Network & Behavioral Analyst who consults to corporation on their employee hiring and retention policies and programs. His work has led him to be one of the most knowledgable experts on The Millennial generation. His newest book, which will be released in the spring of 2007, provides an indept understanding of The Millennials in the workplace and how to make their employment a winning situation for both the employer and The Millennial. I believe the work of Envision Your Future is grounded in a clear understanding of and an abiding commitment to the fullest potential of today's young people, who are so often misinterpreted and unfairly labeled. It's an honor to be of service to Envision Your Future. Scott Degraffenreid, Dallas, TX

Sam Sanders, also serves as the Chief Executive Officer working with business development, marketing and administration. Over 40 years of successful sales, marketing and business development for start ups and major corporations including IBM, where his last position at IBM was Director of Business Development for WebSphere (IBM's Internet offerings). Upon seeing the dramatic and positive effect of Envision Your Future on the life of our youth I knew that this was a program that I could truly give back for all the positive gifts that I have received. Sam Sanders, Santa Fe, NM
